We’re happy to celebrate Linda Pape on five years of contributions to our affordable housing studio and her impact at Thriven Design! Congratulations and thank you for all that you do to help create places where people thrive.

In honor of this milestone, please enjoy a Q&A with Linda in which she shares some insights into her career journey.

Is there a specific point in time when you first remember knowing that you wanted to pursue a career in architecture? Was there anything, or anyone, in particular that inspired this decision?

Linda: In middle school, I went to bring your child to work day with my dad who works in the AEC industry. The site we went to was a hotel in the early construction phase, and I remember being in awe of the structure that was being built around me. From that moment on, I knew that architecture was what I wanted to do.

Can you take us back to your first few days, or weeks, at Thriven Design and share with us some of your most memorable moments?

Linda: I came to Thriven Design fresh out of graduate school, was living in a new state and working a brand-new full-time job. To say I was nervous about all these new changes would be an understatement, but the folks at Thriven Design welcomed me with open arms and were so friendly and inviting.

What is the most rewarding part of your role and how does this motivate you in your current pursuit of becoming a registered architect?

Linda: I am in that transition period where I have gained enough experience in certain areas that I can now be a guide to some of our younger staff. This motivates me to continue to gain new experience and knowledge so that I can continue to share it and help mentor others.

What has had the greatest impact on your career while being a part of the Thriven Design team?

Linda: My colleagues – There is a wealth of knowledge at Thriven Design, and the folks here are incredibly helpful and willing to share that knowledge with others.
