Thriven joins Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey for ribbon cutting of Lutheran Senior LIFE at Union

Thriven Design was pleased to join Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey and local officials on Monday, June 9, for the ribbon cutting and blessing of Lutheran Senior LIFE at Union.  This new 13,600 sq. ft. PACE Center will enable older adults who live in Union County to remain independent and age-in-place at home while receiving comprehensive healthcare and wellness services. “LIFE” stands for Living Independently for the Elderly.

Lutheran Senior LIFE at Union is located on the first floor of the newly revitalized Muhlenberg Medical Arts Complex on Randolph Road in the City of Plainfield, N.J. Thriven worked with Lutheran Social Ministries beginning with site-selection and provided complete architectural, MEP/FP engineering, and interior design services for this transformative renovation.

The PACE (Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) program at Lutheran Senior LIFE follows a national model that is the ‘gold-standard’ of healthcare for older adults who need healthcare and have limited incomes.  This Program has enabled thousands of seniors to remain living independently in the community rather than transitioning to living in a nursing home. The PACE Program provides older adults, many of whom are dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, with a full range of medical care and therapeutic services including primary and specialty care, physical/occupational/speech therapy, lab-work, medical tests and medications.  The program also offers transportation to and from the Center, nutritious meals, plus a wide range of social and recreational activities to keep seniors active, engaged and enjoying life.

Lutheran Senior LIFE at Union is Lutheran Social Ministries’ second PACE Center and Program in New Jersey. In 2010 LSM opened the Lutheran Senior LIFE at Jersey City, serving Hudson County and located in the Liberty Health Medical Office Building adjacent to the Jersey City Medical Center.
