Community Behavioral Health (CBH) has been expanding access to mental health services across Philadelphia for more than 25 years, advancing its vision for a resilient, thriving city. As its workforce begins to return to the office in a post-pandemic environment, CBH realized changes to its 10th floor workspace was needed to best support its employees and uphold its core value that a healthy, happy workforce creates healthy, happy members.

Through the thoughtful selection of furniture, special attention given to the programming of the space, selection of finishes, and drawing of electrical locations, Thriven Design’s Interior Design studio created person-centered spaces for CBH to encourage collaboration, connection, and learning. The new workspace provides opportunities for multiple ways of working, giving the staff a valued destination and supporting a positive organizational culture. New private areas for small video-based team or member meetings were formed to address privacy and auditory concerns for calls in open work areas. The design also included open space for team-building activities and brainstorming sessions.

The new workspace program on the 10th floor resolves the challenges with a hybrid environment and builds effectiveness, confidence, and satisfaction in the new way of working.
