Lawnside Senior Residence

Fusing both new construction and the adaptive reuse of an historic school building, Lawnside Senior Residence is a residential community providing a total of 40 one-bedroom rental apartments to the local Lawnside senior population. Classroom spaces in the old school were converted into 16 living units, with an additional 24 units provided in a newly-constructed residence, adjacent to the schoolhouse, at the rear portion of the site. The school building’s exterior was fully restored to its original architectural character, with select historic details inspiring the design of the new residence.

Both buildings at Lawnside offer warm, welcoming, and contemporary living environments for senior aged adults. Each unit is fully accessible and includes a variety of energy-saving features, including Energy Star appliances and individual heating and cooling. On-site amenities include a club room, exercise room, computer lab with internet access, and office for visiting physicians.
