One Thompson Avenue, located in a transit-oriented area within walking distance to Town Hall and Dover Train Station, is part of downtown Dover’s master redevelopment plan. It transformed a former parking lot into a lively 70-apartment housing community with 100 percent of its units affordable to residents with household incomes at or below 60 percent of the Area Median Income (AMI) and five percent of the apartments designed to be accessible to residents with physical disabilities. Veterans are given preference on 50 percent of the units, and five units are set aside for residents who formerly experienced homelessness. The project includes a mix of one, two, and three-bedroom family units with 71 parking spaces located in the open-air parking garage at the ground floor. Community space in the building features a cybercafe, fitness area, bike room, shared laundry facilities, and on-site supportive services. Each unit in the development received Energy Star Certification, and the entire project met Enterprise Green Communities standards.
