Thriven Design celebrates ribbon cutting for Terrell Senior Residence
Thriven Design was excited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony for Terrell Senior Residence on Wednesday, February 11, in Newark, NJ. This new 69-unit community for older adults was developed by The Alpert Group with the Newark Housing Authority and financed with funding from New Jersey Housing Mortgage Finance Agency and NJEDA ASPIRE tax credits.
Terrrell Senior Residence includes four stories of apartments above a ground floor amenity level that includes secure resident parking, a management/leasing office suite, and supportive services offices. A spacious second-floor community room with floor to ceiling windows provides sweeping views of the Manhattan skyline and the fifth-floor roof deck offers views of Riverfront Park and the Passaic River to the west. Thriven Design provided architectural, MEP/ FP engineering, interior finishes and energy services for this project, which represents the first phase of implementation of the Millard Terrell Homes Master Plan, authored by Thriven Design in coordination with the Newark Housing Authority in 2021.
Congratulations to the Alpert Group, Newark Housing Authority, Terrel Homes Tenant Association, Ironbound Community Development Corporation, NJHMFA, NJEDA, Enterprise Community Investment, TD Bank, NW Financial, Grant Engineering, DCI Engineering, and the entire project team!
