Thriven Design, Federation Housing, celebrate groundbreaking for Shoshanna’s Way
Thriven Design joined Federation Housing, representatives of Montgomery County and Whitpain Township, Pa. the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, and other project team members Friday July 10 for the groundbreaking of Shoshanna’s Way. This new, income-restricted community will provide 55 affordable, one-bedroom apartments for older adults, plus one apartment for live-in staff. Units feature open floorplans, energy efficient appliances and systems, and are adaptable as resident hearing and mobility needs change over time. The community is nestled on a 3.32 acre site lined with mature trees in the heart of Blue Bell.

“Our region faces a growing demand for affordable housing, especially as more older adults struggle with the rising costs of aging in place,” said Eric D. Naftulin, Executive Director and CEO of Federation Housing. “Our mission is to expand access to quality, affordable housing, ensuring more individuals and families have the opportunity to live in the communities they call home.”
Thriven Design provided architecture, MEP/ FP engineering, and interior design services for the community, which is estimated to be completed in late fall, 2027.
