295J is a five-story mixed-use development located in the downtown Bergen-Lafayette section of Jersey City, New Jersey, directly adjacent to the 1200-acre Liberty State Park and a five-minute walk from the Hudson-Bergen light rail station. 295J contains 308 units of new market-rate rentals with a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. The brick and steel structure has a rectangular shape that centers around the 21,000-square-foot courtyard.
The shared amenity space includes a lobby with 24-hour concierge service and Amazon lockers, a fitness center, and “The Study,” a light-filled co-working lounge. The rooftop, equipped with a dog run, has views of the Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan. Additionally, the building includes 85 parking spots, located in an interior garage structure, an impressive landscaped courtyard with pool, fire pits, and barbecue grills, as well as commercial office space that will be the new home of the Jersey City Redevelopment Authority. BKSK served as design architect for the project, and Thriven Design was the architect of record and provider of MEP services.
