Gloria Robinson Court Homes is part of the A. Harry Moore HOPE VI Revitalization Plan, a vision adopted by the Jersey City Housing Authority in an effort to redevelop obsolete and deteriorating public housing. This multi-phased project is the direct result of an intensive community planning process conducted by Thriven Design aimed at replacing an outdated, seven-tower public housing complex built in the 1950s with a new mixed-income, residential community that is both socially, physically and economically integrated with the adjacent neighborhoods and the larger community beyond. By the end of 2011, the first three phases were complete, with 204 mixed-income, mixed-finance rental units, as well as a community center. The fourth and final phase adds an additional 70 units of mixed-income housing and includes a four-story elevator building which has two floors dedicated to a 10-classroom Jersey City Head Start early childhood education program.
