Liberty 52: Stephen F. Gold Residences is an affordable, three-story multifamily residence in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, that was funded utilizing Low-Income Housing Tax Credits issued by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. Located at the corner of North 52nd and Poplar Streets, these new apartments provide supportive independent homes for twenty-four adults with disabilities. A percentage of the units are reserved for residents with autism. Stephen F. Gold Residence is situated on a .6 acre parcel of land that was formerly a vacant lot, and it has transformed the blighted lot into an asset for the neighborhood.  It is an ideal place to live as it has public transportation connecting residents to local restaurants, churches, shopping, and services. This neighborhood is served by Haddington Multi Services for Older Adults, a non-profit organization providing in-home services, as well as other community health centers, and is only a few blocks from the Philadelphia Promise Zone. This building was designed to achieve a high level of energy efficiency through the integration of Passive House design strategies with Enterprise Green Communities Criteria. The Energy Star label products provided throughout the apartments contribute towards residents having lower electric bills while being comfortable in their new homes.
