Thriven Design provided comprehensive architectural and engineering services for this new fourteen-story, luxury apartment building located on one of the main commercial thoroughfares in New Brunswick. Adjacent to the Rutgers University Main Campus, the building completes a multi-phased project which includes student housing and a multi-level parking garage directly across the street. The contemporary design enhances the new urban scale of the city and the floor plans take full advantage of city and river views.

The George offers a blend of both market-rate and affordable apartments, with 3,385 square feet of retail space in four bay configurations at the ground floor. Each residential floor is comprised of six one-bedroom and two two-bedroom apartments with modern design features and unique floor plans. The contemporary lobby boasts a lounge, TV and WiFi, a state-of-the-art fitness center, concierge service, and storage space for residents.

In addition to design services, Thriven Design was the New Jersey Clean Energy Pay For Performance (P4P) partner on the project. Through integrated design and energy modeling the building achieved energy savings that qualifies the project for energy incentive savings from the New Jersey Clean Energy Program. The George’s modeled energy use is 18% below energy code.
