Thriven Design was pleased to join with Atlantic City Mayor Marty Small, Sr., Developer Adenah Bayoh, and Foya Development Group on Thursday, June 5, for the groundbreaking of 6 single-family homes in the Midtown North section of Atlantic City, NJ.  Congratulations to Foya Development Group, Arthur Ponzio Co., Mulhern + Kulp, New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, the and the entire project team!

The homes, on the 300 block of N. South Carolina Ave at Drexel Avenue and Mediterranean Aves, are three-bedroom residences with front porches, rear decks, off-street parking, and fully energy efficient appliances and fixtures. Thriven Design is providing architectural and MEP/FP engineering services for the project, which advances home ownership for local families and helps break the rental cycle and establish generational wealth.

The appearance of the North South Carolina Ave. homes mirrors the design sensibilities of the surrounding Atlantic City neighborhood of shore-style single-family homes, allowing the new construction to blend in seamlessly to the existing built landscape. The homes are within walking distance of transit and other community amenities including restaurants, retail, and potential sources of employment.

“Homeownership is an incredibly powerful force, helping families to build wealth over time and strengthen communities,” said  Adenah Bayoh, Founder, Foya Development Group. “We are grateful to our partners and stakeholders for helping us build stronger communities and making the American Dream attainable for working families in the City of Atlantic City”.

The North South Carolina Avenue homes project is the latest design-development partnership for Thriven Design, Adenah Bayoh, and the Foya Development Group. Thriven is also providing professional architecture, engineering, and interior design services for Southside View  in Newark, NJ., a 40-unit affordable multifamily residence, and Springview, a 63-apartment multifamily residence, also in Newark. In 2023, Thriven Design provided interior design services for 722 Chancellor, a 56-apartment affordable community in Irvington, NJ. In addition to these three projects, Adenah Bayoh and the Foya Development group have developed more than 180 additional units of affordable housing in New Jersey, with more projects serving low-income individuals and families in design.
