Today, our firm takes a dynamic step forward as we introduce a co-leadership model with two Managing Principals, Matthew Bartner, AIA, LEED® AP, and Richard Carbone, Assoc. AIA, who will lead in tandem, working alongside our esteemed Principal governing body.
Matthew Bartner, AIA, LEED AP, refines his role as Managing Principal now with a pronounced emphasis on Practice & Performance.
He will lead the charge across several critical facets of our operations. Matt’s purview includes steering professional practice, orchestrating seamless project delivery and knowledge management, guiding financial matters, and safeguarding legal and risk management, in addition to overseeing various other vital aspects of our business.
As Managing Principal since 2022, Matt advanced Thriven Design’s position in affordable multifamily and student housing markets and led the firm to one of its most award-winning years on record. With a career spanning over 25 years, Matt has amassed a wealth of experience in the planning, design, and construction of diverse multifamily residential projects. These projects range from large-scale new construction to the meticulous renovation of existing structures, all executed with a keen focus on the integration of sustainable design and construction techniques and materials. His deep expertise in these areas will be a cornerstone of our continued success.
Partnering as a Managing Principal is Richard Carbone, Assoc. AIA, who will lead in the critical domain of Growth & Strategy.
The role will bring Richard’s creative visioning strengths to the forefront, as he spearheads and oversees strategy, growth, marketing, business development, and other pivotal facets of our operations. Richard brings an impressive 22-year career in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry, during which he has led marketing and strategy initiatives for both global corporations and mid-sized firms. His reputation is built on his extensive knowledge and keen insight into market dynamics, branding, and the strategic aspects of business development.
Since joining Thriven Design in 2019, Richard has consistently demonstrated his ability to envision and execute innovative strategies that drive success. His tenure with us has been marked by a series of achievements, including the firm’s historic rebrand to Thriven Design. This rebranding brought fresh energy and vitality to the firm and a renewed commitment to our mission and values exemplified by the dramatic unveiling of a new logo, a cutting-edge website, and a fresh corporate identity. It not only paved the way for our company’s future growth and success but also further fortified our already robust national reputation.
This dynamic co-leadership structure equips Thriven Design with the adaptability and agility required to respond swiftly to the ever-evolving dynamics of our marketplace.
