Thriven Design joins The Alpert Group, the Township of Neptune Housing Authority, for Groundbreaking of Neptune Court
Thriven Design was delighted to join The Alpert Group, The Township of Neptune Housing Authority, Enterprise Community Investment, TD Bank, MidAtlantic Engineering, C&C Construction Management, and other members of the project team for the groundbreaking of the Neptune Court Redevelopment Initiative on Wednesday, October 29, in Neptune, NJ.
Thriven Design is providing architecture and MEP engineering services for the project, which includes the design and construction of a new three-story, 70-unit affordable, multifamily residence on the site of the former Neptune Court Apartments. The project is part of a municipality wide redevelopment initiative that aims to modernize and revitalize housing throughout Neptune and strengthen access to transit, schools, workplaces, and community amenities.
The unique “H” layout of the new Neptune Court apartment building creates two open courtyards that maximize use of this site while incorporating onsite parking and maintaining the residential scale that is compatible with the surrounding residential properties. The new building connects this site with Township of Neptune Housing Authority’s adjacent properties, helping unify this residential campus and bringing together the residents as one community. The design utilizes the open courtyards as the main building entrance with front porch on the north side and a landscaped greenspace for passive recreation on the southside. This greenspace, a spacious patio, connecting sidewalks, and secure bicycle storage will foster an active lifestyle for the families who will live here and engage with the greater community. Other features within the building include a central lobby with seating, mail and package area, a large multi-purpose room with kitchenette, a resident fitness room, management/leasing offices, supportive services offices, two centrally located elevators, laundry rooms on each floor, and onsite maintenance space for the Housing Authority.
The Neptune Court Redevelopment Initiative is the latest collaboration between The Alpert Group and Thriven Design, who have worked together on more than two dozen affordable housing projects in New Jersey, including the recently completed 1425 Teaneck Senior Housing, West Orange Senior Housing, and Tompkins Street Apartments.
